Therapeutic Foster Care
Therapeutic foster care provides a higher level of care for youth who have higher behavioral and emotional needs. Rather than entering residential treatment, therapeutic foster care allows these youth to receive extra services and support while staying in a home/family setting.
Youth Unlimited values therapeutic foster care because it gives foster parents a concrete framework for understanding and working with youth who have higher needs. Foster parents are equipped with the knowledge and resources to help our youth build life skills and thrive: personally, socially, and academically.
Types of Care
Under the umbrella of therapeutic foster care, Youth Unlimited serves three populations of youth.
As a youth placement agency, we work to place our youth in our certified Behavioral Rehabilitation Services (BRS) treatment foster care homes (TFC) and provide them with case management and 24/7 crisis support services.
YUI currently provides BRS treatment services for youth involved with the Oregon Youth Authority and with Department of Human Services child welfare foster care. Additionally, YUI provides a mental health treatment level of foster care for youth who have higher mental health needs.
